Workshop Description:

Successful managers are able to motivate, lead and influence people in order to further an agency or companys mission. Successful managers do this while treating employees with respect and helping to develop the staffs talents. This workshop will assist managers with becoming more self-aware so that they recognize how their style of management positively or negatively impacts employees. Managers will learn key tips on how to become more effective and respected managers.

Workshop Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

• Identify the four main management styles (autocratic, paternalistic, democratic and laissez-faire)
• Identify his/her primary management style
• Evaluate his/her own management style and the impact it has had on employees
• Identify the type of employees he/she supervises and how to more effectively manage them
• Identify desirable vs. undesirable traits of a manager
• Identify the key tips to becoming a more effective manager
